Dear food people,

If you’re someone who loves all things strawberry milk pink, The Cassette Coffee Bar might be your kind of place. It’s nestled between eateries along the Siam Square stretch.

While it isn’t hard to find, it’s still easy to miss if you're not paying close attention.

This cafe has been trending since 2023 and is a popular stop for visitors in Bangkok, especially for those looking to snap a photo in front of its strawberry pink facade that brings strong Barbie fantasy vibes.

The space is compact, seating only around 10 to 15 people, and tends to fill up quickly during peak hours.

They serve both hot and iced coffee, along with iced sodas for those avoiding caffeine.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that sugar syrup has fewer calories per gram compared to regular table sugar? This is because it’s diluted with water, which lowers its sugar concentration. However, since syrup is less sweet by weight, people often use more of it to achieve the same level of sweetness. As a result, you might end up consuming the same amount of calories, or even more.

WHAT WE ORDERED?

I had already reached my coffee limit for the day, so I decided to try the seasonal signature beverage, “Truly Ruby”, instead.

It’s a combination of pomegranate juice, sugar syrup, and soda, said to be inspired by Dua Lipa’s song "Houdini". The drink was served in a takeaway cup within five minutes, with a balanced ratio of 30 percent ice and 70 percent liquid.

The flavour offered a refreshing blend of sweetness and citrus, with a subtle hint of rosemary that added a surprisingly elegant lift.

They also offer cakes and pastries, but I had just come from a big lunch and was too full to sample any.

Beverages here range between 80-120 Baht, which is relatively reasonable for BKK cafe pricing.

THE VERDICT

Shiok Rating: 3 out of 5. “Truly Ruby” was refreshing and well-balanced, with the rosemary providing an unexpected but pleasant twist. However, it didn’t feel particularly unique or memorable. If you’re familiar with Bangkok’s cafe scene, you’ve likely had similar drinks elsewhere. It was enjoyable, just not something I’d specifically return for.

Vibes Rating: 4 out of 5. The Cassette Coffee Bar shines in its aesthetics. From the exterior to the smallest details inside, the commitment to the strawberry milk pink theme is strong and consistent. It’s clearly been designed with visual appeal in mind, making it an ideal photo spot for social media. Despite the small space, it feels thoughtfully put together and cosy enough for a quick recharge.

I’ll probably only return if I’m already nearby and looking for a break or something photogenic to sip on. As a destination, it leans more on style than substance—but sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of mood you’re after.

Location: 264/4 Siam Square Soi 3, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand
